Kyle Busch made it eight victories this season in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, leading 157 laps and absolutely dominating Saturday in a green-white-checkered flag finish at Dover International Speedway.

“It was a pretty flawless day for us,” Busch said. “We made it look easy.”

Toyota today announced a $1,000,000 contribution directed to disaster relief for victims of Hurricane Ike.
The donations are being made to two organizations:

* The American Red Cross will receive $500,000 from four Toyota
companies: California-based Toyota Motor Sales USA and Toyota
Financial Services; New York-based Toyota Motor North America; and
Kentucky-based Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North
America.

Rain washed out NASCAR Sprint Cup qualifying for the second straight week. This time, though, Joey Logano gets to race.

A week ago at Richmond the rainout left the 18-year-old phenom out of the lineup and frustrated because he was entered in a fourth Joe Gibbs Racing car that had no owner points. This week, Logano is entered in the No. 96 Hall of Fame Racing entry, 39th in the owners points.

TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION (TMC) announces that together with EDF Energy, the British subsidiary of the French energy company EDF, it began testing TMC-produced plug-in hybrid vehicles on public roads in the United Kingdom on September 10.
To officially kick off the tests, TMC and EDF held a joint press conference in Hyde Park, London, on the same day, which was attended by, among others, UK Secretary of State for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform John Hutton, other members of the UK Parliament, London municipal government officials and the Japanese Ambassador to the United Kingdom Shin Ebihara. EDF Energy Chief Executive Vincent de Rivas, TMC Managing Officer Koei Saga, Toyota Motor Europe Senior Vice President Graham Smith and others were also present.

Five races highlight Saturday’s (September 13) Law Enforcement Appreciation Night and Family Night at TOYOTA Speedway at Irwindale. A full lineup of NASCAR Whelen short track races are scheduled including Auto Club Late Models, ACDelco Super Late Models, Vista Paint Super Stocks, Pure Stocks and a trailer race.

Any sworn and civilian law enforcement personnel associated with a Southern California area law enforcement organization will be admitted for free with employment identification or special promotion code. Also, youngsters 15 years of age and under will be admitted for free as part of a Family Night promotion.

SIA assembles three Subaru vehicles, the Tribeca, the Outback and the Legacy. It also assembles the Toyota Camry, under a contract with Toyota. Camry production started last year and this year SIA expects to produce about 90,000 of them.

The 2009 Subaru Legacy PZEV, which is produced in Lafayette, meets a strict “partial-zero” emissions standard set by the California Air Resources Board.

The Subaru Forester a pioneer in the compact SUV marketplace - one of the first crossovers in existence, before crossover terminology was being applied. Initially, it was boxy in its form, but was great fun to drive and genuinely off-road capable. The Forester has evolved over its life span, ever improving and becoming more refined. If there were limitations before, they fell into the size category, which ultimately affected overall functionality.

Subaru has been very busy. First, it introduced the new Impreza, which divided opinion with its switch to a curvy hatchback body in place of the previous rather staid saloon shape. Then there was the introduction of the company’s own diesel engine; as the first boxer diesel fitted to a passenger car, it impressed just about everyone who tried it.

Subaru of America, a wholly owned subsidiary of Fuji Heavy Industries, has introduced its new 2009 Impreza WRX.

Subaru of America, a wholly owned subsidiary of Fuji Heavy Industries, has introduced its new 2009 Impreza WRX.

The company said that the 2009 Impreza WRX is equipped with a five-speed manual transmission and, like all Subarus, symmetrical all-wheel drive.
